In a special day for developer SIG Group, we hosted our first community event at Ooralea Waters earlier this month. It was a fantastic day of fun, celebration and connection, with so many residents turning out to take part in the festivities.

The occasion marked the official opening of two brand-new Display Homes built by Gemini Homes, as well as the launch of our online community portal.

Building Community, Together

The event was designed to bring neighbours together and highlight the vibrant lifestyle already thriving here at Ooralea Waters. Families enjoyed a wonderful line-up of free activities and entertainment, with something for everyone to take part in.

We would like to thank our incredible suppliers and partners who made the day such a success, including Carlie’s Fascinating Face and Let’s Just Face It, who delighted children with colourful face painting, glitter tattoos and balloon twisting. Par-tee Hire Co kept families entertained with mini golf, while Ziffy’s Ice Cream Van and Sinful Kitchen served up sweet treats and delicious tacos. Dundula State School put on a fantastic sausage sizzle, J&J Wired Bird kept coffee lovers happy, and local musician Nite Johnston set the tone with live music.

A big thank you also goes to Esprit Constructions and Gemini Homes, and to Starcut Flowers and Boho on the Go, who styled the event beautifully with furniture and décor.

We are also grateful to Black Springs Golf Course for donating more than 200 mini golf vouchers, which were enjoyed by families over the weekend, and to all who contributed to the incredible raffle prize. The hamper featured locally made produce from the award-winning Sarina Sugar Shed, a $100 voucher from Sinclair Meats, Yeti water bottles, a family bowling voucher from BG’s Sporting Centre, and a nine-hole round of golf for two with buggy hire from Black Springs Golf Course. Congratulations to our winner, Mariah Woolmer, who was over the moon with her prize.

A Thriving Community with More to Come

The response from residents was overwhelmingly positive, with many delighted to come together on a typically glorious Queensland afternoon. Guests shared their excitement about the future of the estate, the strong community spirit, and the opportunities for more events like this in the years ahead.

Mariana Arango, SIG Group Sales and Marketing Officer, reflected on the day:

Seeing the community come together for the event was a real highlight, with so many families out enjoying the day at Ooralea Waters. Events like this really show the strong community spirit that’s building here. We love bringing people together, and it was a great chance for everyone to experience what life at Ooralea Waters is all about. The turnout was fantastic, and it’s exciting to see the community grow into such a welcoming place for families.”
